Conditions of Use

The terms and condition set out on this page relate to purchases made through our framed-on-line website, and may differ to the terms and conditions of our in store sales.

As with all UK retail websites, we are bound by the "consumer protection (distance selling) regulations 2000". These regulation offer the consumer certain levels of protection, and certain rights when ordering over the Internet.

These rights are set out below.

Distance selling regulations
The consumer will receive a written (including e-mail) confirmation of the order. The contract between the seller (us) and the consumer (you) is made when we confirm your order, and is binding.

Delivery of the goods will take place within 30 days of the order (please be aware this is normally much longer than our expected delivery time), unless we advise you otherwise and you agree.

You have the right to cancel the non bespoke elements of your order up to 7 days after you receive your ordered goods. Any bespoke products i.e lenses, treatments, coatings and any made to measure products are not refundable, and are not covered by the regulations.

Every effort is made for us to keep up to date with stock levels at the manufacturers of our fantastic products. However, on occasion, the stock levels displayed may not equate to the stock level at our suppliers.

If this is the case, and your chosen product has gone temporarily out of stock, we will inform you at the earliest opportunity. In these circumstances, we will offer to keep the item on order for you, supply an alternative colour or size, or supply an alternative product. If these steps are not to your satisfaction, and you do not wish to wait for your chosen items to come back into stock, your order will not be processes, and your money returned.

You will find that our on-line costs are less than our in-store costs. FRAMED opticians employs professional staff who work in our store in order to offer you the best levels of customer service and advice. In-store, we offer a free of charge FRAMED style consultation, where we will spend time discovering your wants and needs and match the best frame / sunglasses to your requirements.

Also, if you visit us in-store, you will receive the best levels of advice on your lens and coatings selection. We also take all measurements relevant to your glasses purchase, taking away any responsibility for you to get these measurements wrong. FRAMED Value this service and believe it provides excellent value, as such is built into our in-store prices. If however, you wish to purchase on-line, and choose not to take advantage of this service, we also believe you should not have to pay for it.

If you are unhappy with your purchase, and you wish to return it, we will refund all non bespoke items at the full cost you paid. This refund must be authorised within 7 days of you taking receipt of your purchase.

In order to return any item, you must first obtain a refund authorisation number from us by emailing a returns request to orders@framed-online.com

If you return any item without this code, or don't request the code within the strict 7 day time period, you right to a refund will not be applicable.

All bespoke, made to measure items e.g spectacle lenses, coatings and treatments are non refundable as they are made at your request to your specifications.

FRAMED opticians great care with our products, as we have a huge amount of pride in our work and products. For this reason, we do not accept returns which are not in perfect condition, so please take great care when packing you item for return, as damaged products will not be refunded. Please also use a traceable method of delivery for your return as we are not responsible for lost items.

Your prescription details
We will not sell prescription products on-line to anyone who is under16 years of age, or registered blind or partially sighted. This is because FRAMED opticians believe these categories of people must see a dispensing optician at the point of ordering due to their special visual requirements. FRAMED opticians welcome these customers to visit us in our optical practice.

By ordering your glasses on-line, we are assuming that your prescription details are in date - the expiry will be written on your specification. It is your responsibility to ensure that it is in date, however, we will require a copy of your specification in order to process the lenses. This will help us to ensure mistakes are not made.

Your PD (Pupillary distance) measurement is needed for us to determine where the optical centre of each lens must be. It is usual practice for the centering of the lenses to match the PD measurement. However, sometimes your previous supplier may have centered the lenses in a different position. FRAMED opticians have no responsibility for this previous decision, and expect you to advise if this is the case, or if you have ever had double vision, or visual discomfort when collecting new glasses. If you do not know your PD measurement we will assume you authorise us to use National averages of:
Male distance glasses 64mm
Male reading glasses 60mm
Female distance glasses 60mm
Female reading glasses 56mm
